Steam tug TIGER

The steam tug TIGER was ordered in 1910 by Jürgen Hinrich Steffen, who owned a small harbor tug company in Hamburg-Altona. Until 1965 the TIGER was in charge to tow barges and small seagoing vessels within the port of Hamburg.

In 1978 the Museumshafen Oevelgönne bought the vessel, which was out of service for several years. Supported by companies and volunteers Hamburgs last coal fired tug went back into service again.
